One of the most well known breeds of American chickens. Rhode Island Reds are dual purpose birds. Great for meat and egg production. They lay more eggs than any other heavy breed. The mature weight for a male is 8.5 lbs and female is 6.5 lbs. They are layers of brown eggs.
